This profession unites completely different spheres, be it the artistic design of a building, a website, a car or clothes. Design, which includes dozens of areas, pursues two goals: creative and technical.
The first is to generate and visualize ideas, the second is to use special technologies for this.
Description and features of the profession
A designer is not an artist, but rather a developer. Using his imagination and visual design skills (this can be drawing with a pencil, designing on a tablet or 3D modeling in a special program), he creates a functional shell of an object or product.
The design of premises is considered the primary task of an interior designer. In addition to external characteristics, the specialist also thinks through the client’s comfort, taking into account the budget. His main tasks include:
- designing the room;
- selecting furniture and other elements of the room;
- communicating with the customer;
- working in special modeling programs.
To work as a landscape designer, you need to know many disciplines, such as hydrology, soil science, dendrology, engineering, etc. This is not only planting plants, but also competent planning of the territory and all underground utilities. According to landscape architect and director of the company “Landscape Factory” Elena Zavyalova: “It is very important that there is no standing water anywhere, so that the plants and lawn can develop well. To do this, you need to take into account many factors. Of course, it is important to study both color and composition – then you will be unique as a specialist.”
