Paul Restoration of Natural Stone

Many wealthy owners of cottages boast of natural stone floors, as an additional confirmation of their wealth and high social status. Such floors require constant specific care, and even in this case, over time, they tend to lose shine, dull and look not as presentable as we would like. The reason for this is the porous surface of many finishing materials from stone, and therefore certain difficulties arise in polishing such gender, and various coloring liquids are perfectly “eaten” into such flooring.

The appearance of spots and cracks – a signal about the need to restore a stone surface. The best solution would be to entrust this difficult task to professionals, since polishing of the floor sometimes requires not only the use of special equipment, but also the use of harmful chemicals.

There are five most effective methods to return the fading floor to life.

1. Deep blur.

This method is indicated for use with strong pollution of the stone flooring. Special fiber disks are installed on a special rotary machine, and, with the addition of acidic or alkaline cleaning agents, the micropor of the stone is cleansed.

2. Grinding.

As a rule, mechanical grinding using diamond nozzles of the rotor machine is used in the presence of small chips, cracks and scratches on marble or granite.

3. Crystallization.

In fact, this method is the thermochemical process. Aggressive chemistry reacts with the calcite of the stone, as a result of which the upper layer “burns out”, and the pores of the stone are sealed.

4. Polishing.

The result of this method is incomparable, but it is extremely short -lived. When polishing on a stone surface, a special chemical composition is applied, which contains wax, different metals and coloring pigments.

5. Polymer coating.

They are covered with the surface of the stone to give the floor of the pristine shine and increase the resistance to mechanical damage, dirt, dust and moisture. A significant disadvantage of this method is to deprive the natural stone of the ability to “breathe”, and if it is necessary to remove the polymer layer, the stone coating is damaged by aggressive chemicals used for this. In this regard, this method has a limited application.
