If there is a need to build a staircase in your house, you can safely start working. In fact, this is not as difficult as it seems at first glance, but, nevertheless, it will be necessary to work hard. The main thing in this case is step -by -step follow -by instructions, accuracy and diligence.
It all starts with the project, and here such moments as the height of the stairs are taken into account, what area it will occupy, what maximum load it should withstand and, of course, it is necessary to provide that it be convenient and beautiful.
Choosing which staircase to build
If the area of the room in which the staircase will be built, then march is usually built, and if you need to save space – screw.
The marching staircase is simpler in design and is considered safe, which is especially important if children and older people live in the house. It is functional and withstands a large load: it is easy to bring large things, such as furniture, piano and other voluminous items.
A skillfully made spiral staircase can decorate the interior and become a basic design when creating a certain style of the room. Its main disadvantages are not very convenient to rise on it and bring large -sized things to the top floor. The complexity of the construction of a screw structure requires professionalism and the necessary skills, so it is better to entrust the construction of such a stairs to specialists.
Basic principles of building stairs
For example, take the construction of a wooden structure on the Kosoura. Such a staircase must meet all the norms and requirements established in construction, therefore the project of the future building is calculated with high accuracy. The goal is that the finished product could last more than a dozen years and it would be safe in the subsequent operation.
When choosing wood from which they will make a staircase, they mainly prefer coniferous breeds – it is available in price, it is easy to process. Oak stairs are valued, but the oak is heavy in processing and quite expensive material.
In order to make a staircase with your own hands, first of all, you need to draw a drawing on which to indicate an accuracy of a millimeter how high and width the staircase, the number of steps and their parameters.
The height is determined in this way: at the place where the staircase should lead, the board is attached horizontally and the height of the future structure is measured from it to the floor, while the angle of its inclination is taken into account – 30–45 degrees. The width and height of the steps are usually taken standard: 28-30 cm and 17–19 cm, respectively. The number of steps is calculated based on the height and length of the stairs, if there are more than 14 of them, the construction of the site is designed in the middle.
We prepare the Kosuurs
The main supporting part of the stairs – Kosour – is attached either to the beam or to the structure under the bridge. At first, a pattern is made, as if repeating the size of the profile of the steps, and on it on the board with an electrician or hacksaw, teeth are cut off. In this case, it is necessary to cut off the corners in which the step and the approach is connected. Then the cosour made is used as a template for the manufacture of other supporting parts of the future structure.
The strength of the stairs depends precisely on the quality of the Kosuors, so the boards take the best (strong, well -dried) thickness at least 40 mm, and there should be 3-4 of them. Between themselves, the Kosuurs are connected by a beam below and above and, if possible, they are tightly attached by anchor bolts to the wall.
Installation of steps and railing
The required number of steps and approaches by the existing sizes is cut out, while another 2-4 cm is added to the ledge.
The installation of the stairs begins with the attachment of the approaches to the roosers, then nailed with nails or screw the steps themselves with self -tapping screws. It is important to thoroughly fix each angle so that over time the structure does not exhaust and a characteristic creak does not appear.
After installation of the steps, the railing is installed – they are necessary to ensure safety when lifting or going down the stairs. The railing should be quite high – from 90 cm and installed at a short distance from each other (about 20–25 cm) so that the child cannot squeeze between them and fall from a height.
At the end of all installation work, the surface of the wood must be well smoked with sandpaper and treated with a stain, and then varnish. For beauty, you can make roundings on the outer parts of the stairs.
The staircase is ready! And the most pleasant thing that is made with your own hands!
