Humanity has been using ceramics since ancient times – the contemporaries of Caesar and Aristotle have sorted out well in it. Already in such ancient times, the floor tiles found the widest application in construction – both in the decoration of the interior and in the external design of the buildings with strong glossy beauty. Now the floor tiles are used mainly for lining of common -use intra -apartment space – bathrooms, kitchens and balconies. We want to give even useful advice to women at a competent choice of ceramic tiles that are understandable to the non -specialist – this material is nothery and is able to serve for many years. When choosing tiles for the floor, you should pay attention to:
1. The surface roughness. Glossy smooth tiles in a wet state are very dangerous due to possible injuries! The surface of the floor tiles should be matte, but it is unreasonable to choose deep roughness on it – it will be problematic to wash the dirt from them.
2. The accuracy of overall sizes – do not be too lazy to compare several tiles among themselves in length and width. Even a millimeter of the difference will create big troubles when laying tiles, all products should exactly correspond to each other in size!
3. Fortress – you can evaluate this parameter for the floor by their severity. Usually the heavier tiles – the stronger. True, tiles will have to suffer with such a fortress during cutting – but it will last you for a long time.
4. Drawing – choosing a pattern on the floor tile is not at all as simple as it seems. Obviously, the color palette and the pattern on the floor should fit into the design concept of the kitchen or bathroom. However, it is necessary to take into account the fact that not a single tile will withstand the fall of any heavy object. Therefore, a variegated pattern is preferable precisely taking into account possible further damage. Of course, clumsy and bright spots as a pattern on tiles are suitable only for lovers of avant -garde design – but a completely monophonic drawing is far from the ideal in terms of long -term perspective.
5. Manufacturer – cautious skepticism should be shown here. If you need to pay several times more for tiles from a world -class brand than a similar domestic product, it is often better to take a cheaper option. After all, the prices of expensive floors for the floor have the costs of advertising and the “promotion” of the brand – and you will pay for it!
6. Be sure to buy tiles with a margin. Experts recommend at least 10 % “Reserve”. Remember that any accident is possible during delivery, and if necessary, replace a few tiles in a couple of years – the “native” species can no longer be found!
